Fantastic Evening of Music on Good Friday last

GCS would like to extend their great appreciation to Brian Whelan and Anne Randolph for their fantastic evening of music on Good Friday night last.

In making the occasion a fund-raising effort for GCS and MQI, the event raised much needed funds for both organisations.

The mood of Good Friday was certainly uplifted by their vocal performances and the lovely choice of music and songs selected. The event was viewed in various different countries and certainly helped in raising people’s spirits as they joined in the singing from the comfort of their own homes.

GCS are so appreciative for their unique, calming, singing talents and the efforts they made in giving such a lovely musical treat.

We are so grateful to both for making this occasion a joint fundraising event for GCS and MQI.

GCS also wish to thank Anne Twohig for her important backroom work in making the transmission go off so smoothly.

The last year has been so difficult for voluntary organisations. It is really important to keep awareness of organisations such as GCS and MQI in the public arena, as we rely totally on funding from the public to continue to provide our much-needed support services.

Thanks to everyone who listened in and donated. It is very much appreciated.

Thank you to Sugarloaf Lions Club

Sonia Walsh, Chairperson of Greystones Cancer Support accepting a donation of €1,000, from Sugarloaf Lions Club represented by member Von McDonald.
Sugarloaf Lions Club has been serving the community of North East Wicklow since 1968 (including Greystones, Kilcoole, Newcastle, Delgany, Kilmacanogue and Newtown Mount Kennedy and the surrounding areas). We strive to keep improving the lives of everyone in our community, whether that involves working with other local charities to fundraise for larger projects, or helping local individuals and families in need, as we do with our annual food appeal. The Lions Club is an apolitical, secular organisation and is here to help anyone in need, and in this case we are happy to assist Greystones Cancer Support Group, a well deserving local charity organization. which provides confidential emotional and practical support to cancer patients and their families.
Thank you from all of us here at GCS for this fantastic donation.
It will go a long way in helping us to continue helping those affected by cancer in our community.
