Services
Greystones Cancer Support fund various Support Services, helping anyone affected by cancer and their families.
If you are having cancer treatment or you have been recently bereaved and would like to book or talk to us about any of these services, please contact the Office at 01 287 1601 or email info@greystonescancersupport.com
GCS try to make life a little easier for you and have a group of Volunteers who provide transport to and from your Hospital Appointments. This practical support gives you and your extended family a much-needed rest and hopefully will relieve some of the stress involved for you.
A Cancer diagnosis brings with it many different types of worries and concerns for you, and also for your family members. It’s good to talk and we have a number of counsellors that we can refer you to, along with members of your family, if needed. Our Counsellors are trained in, Adult, Teenage, Child and Bereavement Counselling. This is a completely confidential service between Counsellor and Client. GCS do not hold or look for any information regarding these sessions.
On contacting the Office, you will be given a Client Number that you will need to be able to access the service. We try to protect your details at all times and it is this number that will be used between your Counsellor and GCS.
Our Counselling service is open to anyone receiving a cancer diagnosis and their family members. This is a Free service, paid for by Greystones Cancer Support.
Have you questions about your cancer diagnosis that you need answered? If you would like to speak to a qualified Oncology Nurse then you can come in to our centre and we will set up a virtual appointment for you. These video calls will take place in the afternoons and if you would like us to organise this for you, please contact the Office.
If you need someone to talk to or have a cuppa with, GCS have a number of Volunteers that are there to listen and support you. Our Client Liaison Officer will discuss your needs and introduce you to one of our Volunteers.
